A new group for Ophthalmic Optics is starting

At the end of the training, the graduates:

They will know:

  • Construction, properties and application of materials for visual correction devices.
  • The technological processes for assembly and repair of visual correction devices.
  • Anatomy and physiology of the eye.
  • Methods of visual acuity correction.
  • Device and principles of operation of pupil line and pupillometer.
  • Methods for calculating lenses with astigmatic and prismatic action.
  • The structural diagrams of the optical devices, the characteristics of the instruments used in practice, their device and their principle of action.

They will be able to:

  • To carry out all activities related to consulting, sales, technical service, manufacturing, repair and control of visual correction devices and optical devices.
  • To perform the relevant technologies for assembly, maintenance and repair of visual correction devices.
  • To know the device and principle of operation of processing tools, devices, machines and equipment.
  • To fill out an envelope – an order with all the data from the prescription according to the selected frames and lenses.
  • To advise the client on the types of eyeglass frames and their functional features.
  • To measure the distance between the pupils of the eyes.
  • To measure the position of the pupils relative to the frame.
  • To work with measuring devices: pupil line, pupilometer and height line.
  • Demonstrate to the client how to clean, store and change contact lenses.
  • To analyze and compare the data of the produced glasses with the prescribed ones according to the prescription.
  • To know the purpose, functions, ways of safe operation of the technical equipment in the optician’s atelier.
  • To know the functions and work with different types of tools, appliances and machines.
  • To know the organization and features of the technological cycle in an optical optic atelier
  • To evaluate the quality of the work performed in accordance with the normative documents.
  • To plan and organize the implementation of current tasks and the solution of current problems related to the implementation of labor activities at the workplace.

Vocational training for the acquisition of a degree of professional qualification ends with the passing of state exams in the theory and practice of the profession, according to Ordinance No. 3/15/04.2003 on the evaluation system (Government Gazette No. 37/22.04.2003). The state exams in the theory and practice of the profession are held according to national exam programs in accordance with the state educational requirements for acquiring a qualification in the profession.

Upon completion of training, graduates receive a Certificate of Professional Qualification.
